This round table will discuss the current opportunities and strategies for involving Czech industry in contracts for the Czech Armed Forces. The discussion will take place in the context of delivering the NATO Capability Targets and the Government’s Programme Statement.

Speakers include Mr. Jaromír Zůna, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence; Mr. Pavel Růžička, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chair of the Committee on Defence; Dr. Jiří Hynek, President of the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic; and Mr. Jan Sechter, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

Further contributions will come from Mr. Martin Lank, President of Defence Industry Gate, and Mr. Jiří Protiva, Director of LOM PRAHA and President of the Aerospace Industries Association of the Czech Republic. They will focus on the share of domestic industry in defence contracts in recent years and on the specific features of the aerospace sector.

The programme will conclude with a discussion between representatives of government, parliament and industry. The round table will offer a comprehensive view of how to strengthen the role of Czech companies in defence contracts.
